Cookie policy

What we store in your browser, why it is there, and how to get rid of it.

Last updated: 29 July 2026

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use very few of them, and none of them are for advertising.

What we set

CookieWhat it doesTypeLasts
Session cookieKeeps you signed in after you log in with Google or a sign-in link.Strictly necessaryUntil it expires or you sign out
Sign-in security cookieProtects the sign-in form against cross-site request forgery.Strictly necessaryThe sign-in attempt
Free allowance counterCounts how many free checks this browser has used, so the allowance can be applied without an account.Strictly necessaryUntil cleared
Administrator cookieUsed by our own team to reach internal pages. It is not set for ordinary visitors.Strictly necessary30 days

All of these are strictly necessary, which means the service does not work properly without them, so they do not require consent under UK and EU rules. We will ask for consent before setting anything that is not on this list.

The browser storage the tool uses

The editor also uses your browser’s local storage, which is not a cookie and is never sent to us. It holds the document you are working on and your recent runs, so that closing the tab does not lose your work.

The copy in your browser is on that device only. Clearing your browser data clears it, and signing in on another computer will not bring it with you. Our own copy is covered by the privacy policy.

Third-party cookies

We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell data to advertisers. Signing in with Google sends you to Google, which sets its own cookies under its own policy while you are there. If we later add analytics, support chat, or a payment provider, this page will list what they set before they go live.

Managing cookies

Every browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones above will stop you staying signed in, and may stop the tool working at all.
