Exactly what we store, why each one is there, and how to clear them.
What we use analytics for
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. That is the only measurement on the site. We run no advertising and no ad tracking.
Everything else we store is functional. Your session, your free-scan count, and the draft you are working on in the tool.
Analytics is something you could reasonably decline, so this page should offer a real toggle and a consent prompt. Neither is built.
We would rather say that plainly than ship a switch that controls nothing. Until it exists, your browser's own cookie controls and any tracking blocker will stop it, and clearing the cookies below removes what was already set.
What we store

| cc_tool_session | Your current draft, claims and results, so returning to the tool restores your work. |
| cc_tool_recent, cc_tool_pending, cc_tool_docx, cc_pdf | Working state for uploads, exports and in-flight jobs. |
The tool also uses your browser's local storage for the document you are working on. That never leaves your machine unless you run a scan.
How to clear them
You can delete all of them from your browser settings at any time. Signing out clears the session cookie on its own.
- Clearing them signs you out and discards any unsaved draft in the tool.
- Clearing the Google Analytics cookies makes you count as a new visitor next time.
- The free-scan allowance does not reset when you clear cookies, because the count is not kept only in your browser.
